Reasons to be excited about your future

Updated: Jan 24, 2023

God has great things in store for your future. He wants you to live a victorious life and has made available everything you need to succeed in life. Here a a few reasons why you should be excited about your future.

  • The Gospel of Christ

Gospel means good news. The good news of Jesus Christ is that He paid for your sins so that you can be accepted by God (Eph 1:3-6). Jesus was made a curse so that you can be blessed (Gal 3:13). Jesus was made sin so that you can become the righteousness of God (2 Cor 5:21). God is no longer inputting your sins to you but the only way to benefit from all that God has provided is by receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour (2 Cor 5:19, Rom 10:9-10).  Once you accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, God is now on your side and He is committed to you. You do not have to be afraid of approaching God but rather you can come boldly to His presence and enjoy Him.

  • The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the One who has been called alongside to help you. He is your Helper in living a victorious life. Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit for our advantage (John 16:7). The strength, counsel and comfort of the Holy Spirit always leads us to victory, prosperity, wellbeing, safety etc. Without the Holy Spirit, a child of God will lead a powerless and defeated life. Those who have received the baptism of the Holy Spirt have the power of God in them (Acts 1.8). Power to overcome every obstacle in life. If you would rely on the Holy Spirit, you will overcome every challenge and experience victory every day of this year.

  • God's Grace

People sometimes define grace as God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. You see, God has opened all His goodness to us but we must receive it by faith. Grace and Faith always go together because we can not have faith for what God has not provided. God’s grace is His provision and faith(which is our part) is receiving and taking hold of what God has already provided. God provided the sacrificial Lamb (Jesus Christ) and so you can receive salvation by faith (Eph 2:8-10). The same way you received salvation is the same way you live in the kingdom of God (Col 2:6-7). You discover what God has provided and take it by faith. It is really that simple - Believe the promises of God and act like they are true because THEY ARE TRUE!

  • God’s thoughts towards you

You are not here by accident, God intended for you to be alive at a time like this. (Psa 139:16) And because He knew you (Jer 1:5), He has already planned how He would make you a success (Jer 29:11). No matter what you have experienced in life up to this point in your life, God is more than able to bring you into this perfect will, which is actually the only way to fulfilment in life. God’s plan for you is much greater than anything you could ever imagine or dare to dream, and He is willing to reveal His plans to you and to lead you into His perfect will for you (2 Cor 2:9-10).

  • The Word of God

It is so wonderful that in our lifetime the word of God has become so easily accessible. There were generations before us who did have the Bible in and accessible language to turn to for godly counsel, instruction, and doctrine. And some also did not give room to the Holy Spirit to teach them (John 14:26). Praise be to God who has revealed so much of His word to us in this generation. His word is indeed a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). From now on, we do not have to grope around in the dark trying to find the will of God. Walking in the perfect will of God does not have to be guess work. Decide today to look to the Word with the help of the Holy Spirit for direction (2 Tim 3:16-17).

As the Psalmist said, God has prepared a table before you (Psa 23:5-6). God has literally opened the heavens to you, but it is up to you if you would recognise what is on the table and partake of it.
